The Importance of Self-Care
The period between winter and spring break is traditionally a stressful time of the school year and now more than ever it is important to practice self-care. If you haven’t done so already, we encourage you to develop a self-care plan and integrate it into your daily life. California’s former Surgeon General, Nadine Burke Harris, MD recommends we incorporate the following healthy practices into our lives: Supportive Relationships, Quality Sleep, Physical Activity, Mindfulness Practices, Balanced Nutrition, and Mental Health Care.
Here is a great article on "How and Why to Practice Self-Care" by Mental Health First Aid.
