Youth Mental Health First Aid--For Spanish-Speaking Parents

Youth Mental Health First Aid will be offered to Spanish-speaking students on Thursdays, September 26 through October 17 9-11 am in the Junction K-8 Parent Center.  Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health challenges and substance use disorders.  This 8-hour training teaches adults the skills they need to understand and provide initial support to children 12-18 years of age who may be developing a mental health challenge or substance use disorder.  Participants will also learn how to connect young people to appropriate supports.   Participants who attend all four sessions will earn a certificate in Youth Mental Health First Aid.  Childcare will be provided.

Taught by Roxy Hernandez, School Psychologist and Asceneth Paez-Arroyo, Clinical Director at Horizons Family Counseling
