Del Valle Culinary Program

Del Valle culinary program provides students an opportunity to take a variety of foods classes.  These courses incorporate nutrition knowledge and choices, food safety and sanitation, kitchen equipment, measurement, table service, meal etiquette, and consumer guidelines for wise decision-making. Students gain skills through hands-on food preparation using a variety of recipes and techniques that they can utilize and apply in their every day life.  Our Culinary Academy students have first hand experience working in a production kitchen.  They have access to food service equipment while following industry standards for dress code, food production, storage, and safety and sanitation while producing food for class and catering in a commercial setting.  Students earn their food handler’s card, obtain a working knowledge of a commercial kitchen, explore career opportunities, and gain an appreciation of the importance of community service, academic and personal achievement.
