Granada students. Center Stage East Bay presents the Festival of Short Plays 2019! Our theme for this year is Maya Angelou’s quote “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” We are currently accepting student writers and directors to submit 15-20 minute one act plays based on the quote. Diversity of interpretation is encouraged; love stories, comedies, philosophical pieces, etc. are all acceptable genres! Plays must be submitted to email@example.com by Feb. 23, after which directors/writers will be invited for an interview with management staff. Selected directors will be announced on March 1 and invited to four Director’s Workshops featuring professionals and amateurs in theater lecturing on the subjects of directing, playwriting, management, theater, and organization. Directors will then, with the aid of experienced staff, develop their scripts into performable pieces and selected plays will be produced and performed by fellow students at Bothwell Performing Arts Center.
