ATHLETICS

There will be a meeting for any boys interested in playing TENNIS this spring today, Thursday, January 10th. Please come to room P2 at lunch to get information on tryouts and other important details for the upcoming season.

Spring sports registration is now open. All athletes interested in playing a spring sport will need to complete registration by going to athleticclearance.com and must have an updated physical on file by January 28th in order to participate.

There will be an important Boy’s Volleyball meeting today, Thursday at lunch in the big gym. This is for anyone interested in trying out for the boy’s team at the end of January. Please talk to Coach Cortez if you have any questions.

CLASS NEWS

Class of 2022 is having their fundraiser at Sharetea extended through this Friday January 11th. Just let them know it's for Granada High when you order. Everyone come out and support the class of 2022.

The deadline for the Senior AD for the Yearbook has been extended to January 31, 2019. Congratulate your senior with an ad in the 2019 yearbook. More info on the GHS website.

CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES

If you've been thinking about joining Literary Society, this Wednesday is a great time to jump in because we're choosing our next book. Join us Wednesdays at lunch in MM-3.

GHS, come out to the Spanish Karaoke Night hosted by the Spanish Club. Join us as we sing and dance our hearts out! Special performance by Hip Hop Club! Entrance is free, however food and beverages will be sold with 50% of the proceeds going to fire victims in Chico. Come out Friday,January 11th to the GHS Student Union from 6-8 pm.

COUNSELING AND CAREER CENTER

The Middle College High School program at Las Positas College is an alternative educational program that provides high school students the opportunity to complete their last two years of high school at Las Positas College, earning high school and college credits. Middle College will be accepting applications for students in the Classes of 2020 and 2021 for the 2019-2020 school year. For more information: see your counselor, check out the website tvrop.org and attend an informational meeting Monday, January 14 or January 28th, 6:30 -7:30 PM @ Las Positas College Room 2420.

STUDENT NEWS

Granada students, Winter Ball tickets go on sale on Monday, January 14, 2019. They are $15 with ASB and $25 without. Buy your tickets the first week as prices go up on January 19th. Please remember if you are bringing a student from another school you will need a guest pass. Please do not buy your ticket on line if you are bringing a guest. You must buy them at student services. You can pick up a guest pass at student services.

Are you an artist? We would like to feature GRANADA STUDENT ARTWORK on the cover of the 2019-20 Granada High School Course Catalog and Student Planner. Stop by Student Services to pick up a flyer that has the guidelines for the artwork. There are also samples for your reference. All submissions must be turned in by Thursday, January 17.
