Free Transit Passes for Students

Dear CMS Students and Family Members,

For Christensen Middle School's 2018-19 school year, registered students will continue to be eligible to receive a free Student Transit Pass — a Clipper card that provides unlimited access to LAVTA Wheels bus services. If you had a Student Transit Pass during the 2017-18 school year and will attend CMS next year, your Clipper card will continue to work on LAVTA Wheels buses over the summer and through July 2019. You DO NOT need to re-enroll at registration in August.

If you are a new student at CMS or did not sign up to get a Student Transit Pass this past school year, you’ll have an opportunity to enroll in the Pilot at registration in August. Registration, consent, and release forms will be available for you to complete, sign, and return at registration. Students under the age of 18 must have their parent or legal guardian complete and sign the registration form as indicated. Once the form is submitted and verified by school staff, students will receive a Clipper card within three weeks. You can also download a copy from the school’s website, complete it, and return it to the front office beginning the first day of school.

CMS is one of 21 schools in Alameda County that will participate in this program during the coming year. If you will be attending a different school in Alameda County in the fall, you may still be eligible to participate. You can find out more information about participating schools at the Alameda County Transit.
