Sunset End-of-the-Year Material Exchange
Good Morning Sunset Families,
We have finalized our end-of-year material drop off and pick up exchange process scheduled for June 1-3. My May Newsletter provided an overview (can be viewed in "A Message from Principal" headline on website homepage).
The link to SignUp Genius was sent to families via email from Mr. Jones on Monday, May 18. If you missed that link, email the Sunset webmaster. When signing up, please be sure to list each child's first and last name along with teacher name in your ONE time slot. This will allow us to pull your child's materials from our MPR in advance of your time slot, as they will be staged by teacher and alphabetical order. Reminder, there will be space for 10 families per 20 minute time slot.
This will be a drive up event with families remaining in their vehicles with the exception of an adult opening their hatch/trunk for our volunteers upon arrival. It is important all participants adhere to social distancing guidelines and wear masks.
Please be sure each child's returning items are in one bag/bundle and labeled clearly with student name and teacher to help expedite exchange. Volunteers will take your materials and return with your child(ren)'s materials before closing hatch/trunk. Our plan is to include LifeTouch photos and yearbooks with your child's returns. Please do not arrive before your pick up window, as this will create difficulty with adhering to our schedule.
Lost and Found will be made accessible near the lower kindergarten classrooms/recycling bin area. Please follow social distancing protocols if parking in the lower parking lot to access lost items.
We are asking Sunset families to keep borrowed Chromebooks over summer in order to access optional enrichment learning via our District webpage (at this time we are awaiting guidance on whether to collect from 5th graders; please keep them unless you receive an email from me, 5th grade parents, stating otherwise). I do hope families take a well deserved break from digital learning, but with 11 weeks off it will be a nice option to have at your fingertips.
Any special circumstances or questions should be directed to your child's teacher.
As this is a first time event, I thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we work to make this run smoothly and safely.
Tom Jones, Principal
