    Dear Livermore Families,

Yesterday’s news that our school dismissal period is being extended is probably still settling in. We are in this together, and will be beside you and your children all the way.

We have received many questions asking about whether this extension will impact how we approach distance learning, and whether we will make any changes in the expectations of students. Our Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, Mike Biondi, is in communication with the California Department of Education (CDE), as State educators determine what flexibility local school districts may have to possibly adjust usual academic requirements under these unusual circumstances. Our teachers and administrators are planning for all contingencies. We will have more specific information to share with you next week.

Thanks to those of you who have forwarded photos of distance learning in action. Please keep them coming. We miss your children as much as they miss their friends and teachers. Seeing them engaged in learning inspires us all as we navigate this uncharted path. You can send photos (and comments and questions) to us at

    Thank you, and take care,

    Philomena Rambo and LVJUSD Leadership
