Clubs

  • Chess and Games Club: Students interested in learning and playing the game of chess are welcome. Additional board and card games such as Connect Four, Sorry, and Uno are also available during 4A lunch. Bring your lunch and your friends!  This club meets on Tuesdays during 4A Lunch in room 9 with Ms Masluk and 4B Lunch in room 38 with Ms McMillin.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Masluk at gmasluk@lvjusd.org 

    Running Club: Starting October 11th, students are encouraged to join Running Club on the track every Friday morning at 8:00.  Please enter the school through the rear gate in the small parking lot.  The gate opens at 7:55 and closes at 8:05.  If it is raining the morning of Running Club, or if it rained the day before, the club will be canceled that day.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Warmerdam at kwarmerdam@lvjusd.org.

    GWC (Girls Who Code) or Coding Club: GWC meets in room 20 from 2:45 to 4:00.  This is a program that is OPEN TO ALL GENDERS and is mentored by professional programmers from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.  If you have any questions, you may contact Mrs. Lee directly at dlee@lvjusd.org.

    Math Counts: Are you up for a challenge? Do you enjoy math? Come to Math Counts in room 26 every Thursday from 2:45 to 3:45. Please note: This club is for middle school students only. This club is NOT designed for homework help. For more information please contact Mrs. Hai at yhai@lvjusd.org

    Dungeons and Dragons Guild: This club currently runs on Mondays from 2:40-3:30 in room 46 with Mr. Grajeda and in room 5 with Mr. Smart. It is first come first serve. For more information please contact Mr. Grajeda at sgrajeda@lvjusd.org or Mr. Smart at lsmart@lvjusd.org

    Makers, 3D Printing, Robotics, and Science Club:  This club will meet on Thursdays in room 6 from 2:40 to 4:00.  Mrs. Brown has all sorts of gadgets and materials for you to use in your inventions.  For students interested in doing a Science Fair Project for the Odyssey or County Science Fair, Mrs. Brown will be running that club concurrently with the Makers Club.  If you have any questions, you may email Mrs. Brown directly at karenbrown@lvjusd.org,  or you can sign up using this sign up link.  

    TUPE (Tobacco Use Prevention Education) Peer Educators: TUPE meets in room 21 from 2:40 to 3:40.  As part of training for our TUPE peer educators, they will learn what the school and legal consequences are for using tobacco, marijuana, alcohol or other drugs.  They will create presentations for different audiences and promotions at Junction during the school year.  If you have not signed up and are interested in doing so, you can email Mrs. Bennett at jbennett@lvjusd.org or use this link for her Google Form Sign up.

    Folklorico Tlapalli: This club takes place in the exercise room by the gym on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Grades K-3 will practice from 6:00-6:45 pm. Grades 4-8, from 6:45-7:45 pm.
