8th Grade Activity Information 2023/2024 - JOE MICHELL SCHOOL

  • Six Flags

    Eligibility: Students must receive a grade of a “D” or better on their second trimester report card in order to sign up. In order to attend, students must also continue to maintain passing grades during the third trimester and have no suspensions during that time.

    Roll Call: Is at 8:25am in the MPR (carry-on items may be searched). Only sealed water bottles will be allowed on the bus. Students must ride to and from the park on the bus.

    At the Park: Students may not leave the park boundaries. If a student gets into trouble at the park, the parent will be contacted and asked to come to the park to get his/her child. All school rules apply at the park. Students should bring money for lunch, as the park does not allow outside food to be brought in. 

    Returning Home: Buses will leave Six Flags at approximately 4:45pm. Students must meet their chaperons at the Dolphin Fountain (front entrance of the park) at 4:15pm. The buses will arrive in Livermore at approximately 6:00pm. Students should have transportation to their homes from school arranged prior to the trip. 

    No Refunds: Tickets are valid only on June 3rd. The school will not be able to refund your ticket or bus fee for any reason. Last day to pay for the trip is May 1st.

  • Promotion Dance

    Date: Friday, May 31 from 7:00pm -9:00pm in the MPR 

    Eligibility: Students must receive a grade of a “D” or better on their third trimester report card in all classes, have no suspensions during third trimester and no discipline issues from the Six Flag trip. 

    Tickets: Tickets will be sold prior to the dance. Cost TBD and no guest passes will be allowed and no tickets will be sold at the door. 

  • Promotion Ceremony

    Date: Thursday, June 6th at 6:00pm in the Gym

    Dress Code: Robes must be worn during the ceremony. Robes will be provided and should be returned at the end of the ceremony.  Families should hold flowers and/or leis until after the ceremony.  Please no hats, sunglasses or other headgear.  Please no horns.

    Guest seating is on a first come, first serve basis. There are no tickets.
