    Give back to CMS and have a tasty meal while you're at it! Eat at Chili's (Livermore location only) on Wednesday, February 22, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and CMS will receive 15 percent. Please mention or show the attached flyer from your smartphone.

  • Promotion Dance Donation Letter to 8th Grade Parents:

    To Our Valued 8th Grade Parents,

    We can’t believe that the planning for our children’s promotion dance is already underway.  We are contacting you on behalf of the 8th Grade Promotion Committee.  Our Promotion Dance Celebration will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019.  As you know, 8th Grade Promotion is a very special event for our children and we want to ensure that their special night is a happy and safe one.

    Our budget for this event is limited to $3,500 of which the CMS PTA has already donated $500 towards, so we need to raise a minimum of $3,000.  These monies will go towards the following:  DJ, food, decorations, entertainment activities, and prizes.  Any monies raised which exceeds the budget will be “gifted” back to the CMS PTA.

    We are asking our 8th grade families to consider making a flat contribution towards the cost of this event in lieu of running fundraisers.  We are hoping for donations of $25 or more per student, although, any amount is much appreciated.  If you can contribute more on behalf of other families in need, this would be very appreciated.  Also, if you are not able to give all at once, you can give any affordable denomination on a monthly basis.

    The 8th Grade Promotion Dance Celebration is planned, coordinated, and managed by the parents of the 8th grade promoting class.  The evening is generously supported through parents and business contributions that enable us to keep the students entertained throughout the evening with refreshments, games, prizes, and more.  As our 8th grade class celebrates one last time as a class, our hopes are to make it a memorable and spectacular celebration.

    There are several ways you can submit your contribution:

    • Deliver your donation in an envelope to the CMS office marked “8th Grade Promotion Fundraising”
    • Make an online donation by going on to the school’s website and click the shopping cart icon below the photo gallery and pay through REVTRAK
    • Mail a check to Christensen Middle School, 8th Grade Promotion Fundraising, 5757 Haggin Oaks Avenue, Livermore, CA 94551

    We are hoping you can make your flat monetary donation TODAY!  If we are unable to raise enough monies by flat donations, we will need to look into fundraising events.

    If you would like to volunteer to help plan this spectacular event, please feel free to contact us via email, cgmarinko@comcast.net or jessicacalkins@comcast.net and we would be happy to include you in any future correspondence.  We also will be having our next meeting on Wednesday, February 13th in the CMS Library at 6:30 pm if you are interested in attending and would like to help plan this event.

  • 2018-2019 CRUISIN' COUGARS RUN-A-THON

    Dear CMS Cougar Families,

    It is time for the 5th annual CMS PTA Cruisin’ Cougars Run-a-thon!  This event is PTA’s major fundraiser for the year.  Instead of doing many product sales fundraisers throughout the year, we have chosen to focus on a big all-school event that celebrates fitness and in which everyone participates. 

    For the Run-a-thon, students will ask for pledges through the online donation site PledgeStar.  On November 2nd, ALL students will participate in the Run-a-thon during their P.E. classes.  Students can register and begin to solicit pledges now at http://www.pledgestar.com/CMS.  Pledges for the Run-a-thon must be made by Friday, November 9th.

    Our goal for the Run-a-thon is to raise $10,000.  That money is used to support many aspects of the CMS experience.  PTA funds help support for our academic programs in Music, STEM, Lifeskills, and the Library.  We donate to the athletic program and will be purchasing a portable pop-up shade tent for our teams and clubs to use.  PTA sponsors student events throughout the year such as our recent BINGO night, honor roll ice cream, and the end-of-the-year BBQ.  We also give grants to teachers and host several teacher appreciation events.

    All students who register on PledgeStar will receive a Friday Fun Pass for P.E.  Students also will earn prizes for raising additional donations.  Finally, if we reach our $10,000 goal, the top 10 fundraisers will subject Mrs. Avilla and Mr. Scharmann to a fun and messy stunt decided on by a student-wide vote!

    We deeply appreciate all contributions to the Run-a-thon and are extremely grateful for our community’s support of CMS PTA. Thank you!
