Torie Gibson, Ed. D. started her career with LVJUSD in July 2024, bringing more than 26 years of educational experience with her. Before coming to Livermore, Dr. Gibson served as the district and county superintendent for the Amador County Unified School District and the Amador County Office of Education. Prior to that, Dr. Gibson has held a variety of leadership roles throughout both urban and rural districts in Northern California, with experience as a principal, vice principal, and Director of Program Improvement. 

As an instructional leader, Dr. Gibson has dedicated her career to building educational systems that enhance student achievement and provide educational support and growth opportunities to students from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, and academic backgrounds. She believes the overall educational success of students requires a focus on both their academic and social-emotional needs, which aligns with LVJUSD’s Framework for Success. To achieve the educational goals desired for students, Dr. Gibson maintains that creating a strong team on a foundation of transparency and trust is paramount.

The daughter of a now-retired teacher, Gibson grew up in Red Bluff, California, where her family was involved in cattle ranching. She will relocate to Livermore with her husband, Mark, and their Portuguese Water Dog, Pavlov, and looks forward to becoming part of the Livermore community.
