My name is Ms. Bethany Cannon. I am a first-year teacher, here at Livermore High, and I'm proud to be responsible for the following 11th and 12th grade ELA classes: ERWC 12B, ERWC 11A (college prep), ERWC 11B (college prep), GEA English 11A & 11B, and Honors 11A and 11B. A recent graduate with a master's degree from USC's Rossier College of Education, I am happy to serve at the very same high school where I completed my student-teaching internship. My pedagogical approach is to teach with empathy and respect for all students. I aim to create engaging lesson plans that incorporate high-interest content; for example, I created a project that requires students to use rhetoric skills to develop a presidential campaign for a cartoon character of choice. Moreover, my methods often target not only academic learning needs but also lessons that transcend the classroom. Outside of academia, I enjoy playing videogames like Overwatch, cuddling with my dog, Luna, and writing about life's neverending adventures. Thanks for taking the time to read a little bit about me. Remember: every day is a great day to be a Cowboy!
