In partnership with the Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE), LVJUSD is in the process of conducting a search for our district’s next superintendent. This page will act as a hub for all information, updates, timelines, and ways to engage in this process.

Ways to Engage & Provide Input

Online Surveys: April 30 to May 7, 2026

The Board of Education invites your input in the process of selecting our next superintendent. We are committed to an open and inclusive search that reflects the values and priorities of our community.

To support this effort, we have created an anonymous online survey and encourage all parents and guardians, staff, students, and community members to participate. Your feedback will play an important role in guiding the recruitment and selection process.

Community Input Forum: May 5, 2026

This in-person event provides an opportunity for parents and guardians, staff, students, community partners, and community members to share insights and perspectives on the priorities and leadership qualities they feel are most important in the search for the next superintendent.

Attendees will have the opportunity to provide individual input and participate in facilitated small group discussions if desired.

ACOE conducts screening, credit, and background checks as applications come in.

Board confers with ACOE to review applications and select candidates for interviews (Closed session daytime meeting- approx. 3 hours)

Board interviews candidates (Closed session all-day meeting 5/30; 5/31 closed session meeting length TBD)

June 1 - 5

Reference checks for finalists; Board makes final determination of top candidate

JUNE 2026
Contract Approval

June 16

Board approves superintendent contract at the regularly scheduled board meeting

JULY 2026
Start Date

New superintendent begins
