Programs & Services

The Resource Specialist Program (RSP) supports students with disabilities who spend most of their day in general education classrooms. Following evaluation, students receive additional instruction and support based on their Individualized Education Program (IEP) as managed by a Case Manager. Students work toward grade-level academic standards and receive help to build skills and independence. To support learning and overall development, students are provided with accommodations, targeted interventions, and related IEP services, as needed. Students in Resource make academic progress toward a high school diploma and build college and career readiness skills.  

The Counseling Enriched (CE) program supports students who are typically able to learn at or near grade level, but benefit from additional social-emotional and behavioral support to be successful at school. Students are supported in a smaller classroom environment and may participate in general education settings when appropriate. The program emphasizes predictable routines, consistent expectations, and a supportive learning environment, with a focus on developing coping strategies, emotional regulation, positive social interactions, and problem-solving skills while maintaining instruction aligned to grade-level standards. Services in the CE program may include specialized academic instruction, individual counseling, group counseling and guidance, and parent counseling. Additional related services may also be provided, as determined by the individual needs outlined in each student’s IEP. The goal of the program is to support students in successfully participating in school and, when appropriate, transitioning to increased general education participation while continuing to make academic progress toward a high school diploma.

The Mild to Moderate (M/M) Program is designed for students who benefit from additional support through a higher adult-to-student ratio in areas such as academics, language, social skills, and independent functioning. Each student receives individualized instruction tailored to their strengths and learning needs.

Students are taught grade-level standards in a small-group setting, with opportunities to participate in general education classes and activities alongside their peers when appropriate. Instruction focuses on helping students build academic skills while also supporting social-emotional growth, organization, and independence.

All students in the M/M Program are on track to receive a high school diploma and work toward the same long-term goals as their peers while working towards grade level standards. The program provides a structured, supportive learning environment that includes accommodations and targeted interventions to help students stay engaged, develop confidence, and make meaningful progress.

The Moderate Program serves students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 12th grade and the Adult Transition Program who have moderate learning, communication, and functional support needs. Instruction is individualized and provided in structured environments with consistent routines, visual supports, and staff guidance to promote independence and engagement.

Students work toward an Alternative Diploma or Certificate of Completion based on individual goals. Instruction focuses on functional and foundational academic skills in reading, writing, and math, as well as following routines, sustaining attention, and completing tasks in small- and whole-group settings.

Communication and social skills development are key components of the program. Students may use visual or alternative communication supports to aid understanding and expression, and often receive support with peer interactions, social cues, turn-taking, and cooperative problem-solving.

The program also emphasizes self-help, functional, and vocational skills, including personal care, navigating the school environment, self-advocacy, and increasing independence with daily tasks. Additional support may include related services that target self-regulation, transitions, and positive peer interactions.

The Extensive Support Needs (ESN) Program serves students from Preschool through Adult Transition who need significant support with learning, communication, daily living, and/or medical needs. Instruction is highly individualized and designed to meet each student where they are, using consistent routines, visual supports, and hands-on learning to help students grow at their own pace.

Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where students can develop communication, independence, life skills, and the highest level of participation possible across school settings to support generalization of skills at home and in the community. Students may communicate in many different ways, including spoken language, pictures, gestures, and communication devices. Staff support student understanding and expression by using clear directions, visuals, repetition, and extra time.

Throughout the program, students work on social skills, motor development, daily living skills, and functional academics based on their individual abilities and needs. Younger students may focus on play, cause-and-effect learning, and early communication, while older students work on self-help skills, vocational activities, job readiness, and self-advocacy. Related services may be provided as needed to ensure students can safely access learning and school activities.

The ESN team also supports students with behavior and emotional regulation, using positive strategies, predictable routines, and individualized plans to help students feel secure and successful. Staff work closely with families to support medical needs, communication goals, and overall student well-being, ensuring that each student is cared for and supported throughout the school day.

Upon completion of the 12th grade, students may receive a certificate of completion or an alternate diploma and continue eligibility in our Adult Transition Program until age 22.
