Rey Sanchez, Jr.

Director of Maintenance and Operations

Rey Sanchez has been a dedicated member of the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District since 2003, when he began as a High School Summer Helper in the Maintenance and Operations Department. In 2005, he accepted a position as a Custodian, working at various LVJUSD sites. In 2015, Rey was promoted to Operations Manager, where he oversaw the district's custodial and grounds teams. After serving in that role for 10 years, he transitioned to the role of Maintenance Manager, supervising the maintenance staff. In July 2026, Rey was promoted to Director of Maintenance and Operations.

Born and raised in nearby Tracy, California, Rey graduated from West High School in 2005. He attended community college before transferring to a four-year university, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance.

Rey and his high school sweetheart, Jessica Lopez, have been together for more than 20 years and are proud parents of three children: Rey III, Jacob, and Olivia. Outside of work, Rey enjoys restoring his 1968 Camaro, hosting family movie nights, and traveling with his family—especially to Disneyland and London.
