Federal Magnet Grant Funding Approved!

In the Fall of 2022, LVJUSD was awarded a $10 million Federal Magnet Grant to bring a STEAM program to Marylin Avenue Elementary School.

The newly re-named Marylin Avenue STEAM Academy also received $25 million in facility upgrades and changes that support the development of the STEAM program. Construction began in the Spring of 2024 and completed in Fall 2025.

Scope

  • New Building with two new TK classrooms, two STEAM classrooms and new TK yard with playground
  • Outdoor learning areas adjacent to STEAM classrooms
  • Existing building modernization of Library, Research Center, one STEAM classroom, and a science classroom
  • New parking lot, drop -off, and site improvements
  • New HVAC and fire alarm system campus wide
  • New exterior paint campus wide
  • New futsal courts and renovated field
