LVJUSD Facilities Master Plan
The LVJUSD Facilities Master Plan (FMP) is a comprehensive, districtwide plan that includes a vision for the future of all LVJUSD schools. Each campus plan sets a direction for the District's facilities, imagining thoughtful and transformative design that will move the District forward. Each campus FMP update the District undertakes will include this overall vision and these campus goals, allowing steady, thoughtful, and cost effective implementation over time.
The District awarded a contract to HKIT Architects to lead the development of the 2025 Facilities Master Plan Update (FMP). HKIT has extensive experience with TK-12 master planning and a deep history working with LVJUSD. HKIT prepared the District's 2021 FMP. The District and architect team established overall goals and objectives for the FMP and set technical criteria for the evaluation of campus conditions and needs. Existing planning documents are being reviewed, and site findings and data will be incorporated into the team’s campus evaluations and resulting design concepts. Site Context maps, Site Observation plans and Design Visions are being updated for each campus, supported by narratives, and detailed Site Observation matrices. Input was received from school site principals, the Education Services team relative to education goals, Maintenance and Operations department, Facilities department and District leadership. A survey was conducted in October 2025 to gather input from students, parents, teachers, staff, and the community. Results from that survey will be available shortly. Cost estimates will be performed including all the work scope defined in this report and anticipated project costs will be updated.
