Is YouthBuild for you?
YouthBuild is a program for youth, ages 17-24, who still need their diploma. This FREE 6-month program pays students $500 a month to earn a construction pre-apprenticeship certificate as they finish their high school diploma (or prepare for the GED). In addition, YouthBuild students can earn the following certificates:
- OSHA 10
- Forklift Operation
- First Aid/ CPR
Not only can students gain valuable skills in general construction, but students can also earn specialized certifications in welding through our partnership with the Las Positas Welding Program.
With YouthBuild, you have options:
As a NABTU certified pre-apprenticeship readiness program, all YouthBuild participants, not only learn from experts in the field, but also, have the opportunity to:
- participate in job shadows in a variety of fields
- apply for internships to explore new careers
- build a resume and gain new experiences
- visit local industry training centers
- learn how to find a job and keep it!
Further, all YouthBuild students have access to a full-time Job Placement Specialist. This means YouthBuild students have support to find the right job, up to 12 months after they graduate from YouthBuild.
