KARE Zone After-School Program
The California Department of Education (CDE) provides funding for school districts to establish locally-driven Expanded Learning programs. The ASES program provides safe and educationally enriching alternatives for children and youth during non-school hours. These programs are created through partnerships between schools and local community resources to provide literacy, academic enrichment and safe constructive alternatives for students in Transitional Kindergarten through fifth (TK-5). Marylin Avenue Recognized with the HealthierUS School Challenge Award
Both Junction Ave K-8 and Marylin Ave Elementary School were presented with the HealthierUS School Challenge (HUSSC) award by the USDA. The HUSSC award honors efforts to create healthier environments at schools through the promotion of good nutrition and physical activity.
