Spelling Bee - January 18, 2023
Our annual Spelling Bee was held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 in the MPR. It was attended by family, friends, teachers, Superintendent Van Schaack and Mrs. Kenison (Community Engagement). Principal Angelo (Pronouncer), Ms. Gibb (Judge #1), Dr. Mapes (Judge #2), and Mrs. Lockhart (Spelling Bee Coordinator) was the Spelling Bee Panel. Twelve 4th and 5th grade Spellers participated in the Bee, representing a total of 151 4th and 5th Graders at Croce. Arjun Patil, a 4th grader in Ms. Holck’s class, is the winner of the Spelling Bee with his winning word of “lurid”. Natalie Fang, a 5th grader in Mrs. Atkinson’s class, is the second place winner. The Spelling Bee lasted 18 rounds, with a total of 99 words spelled! Arjun and Natalie will continue to L.V.J.U.S.D.’s Spelling Bee on March 15th. Arjun will represent Croce for the Regional Online Qualifier Test for Scripps National Spelling Bee on February 10th. We are very proud of all of our Spelling Bee Cheetahs!

Croce Office Hours
The office will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The second and fourth Wednesday of each month the office closes at 2:30pm for office staff to attend meetings.

All students in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District participate in the Choose Love social emotional learning curriculum during the school year. Students learn the Choose Love Formula: Courage + Gratitude + Forgiveness + Compassion in Action = Choosing Love Formula.
