  • Sunset School Tours Announced

    Welcome to Sunset Elementary! We welcome new families to tour our campus with Principal Tom Jones to get a "lay of the land" and gain familiarity with our campus and its offerings. To maintain small group sizes we permit 1–2 adults per family to attend the tour. Please note that children are not allowed on the tour as you will be visiting the classroom and disruptions must be kept to a minimum. Children may not be left in the office. Please allow 30-45 minutes for the tour. If you have any additional questions, please contact the office. We have tours available for new families on the following dates: January 25 at 9:00 am January 30 at 11:00 am February 11 at 9:15 am You may secure a space on any of our three tours by calling our school office at 925.606.5230

  • Science Odyssey 2019 - Registration Closes on Friday, January 18

    We hope you consider participating in our district-wide Science Odyssey 2019. Registration ends January 18!

  • 2019 Science Odyssey Trashion Show

    All students, K-12, are invited to participate in the Trashion Show, featuring original "trashion" designs. Participants will wear their "trashion" outfits at the 2019 Science Odyssey event where outfits will be judged and photographed.

  • 2019 Science Odyssey Photography Contest

    Calling all student photographers! Students in grades 1-12 may submit black & white or color photography. Photos submissions will be 8x11 and need to include a written description of the science concept expressed in the photo. Top entries will be displayed at the Student Art Exhibit at Science Odyssey and will be further showcased in the community after the event.

  • LVJUSD Framework for Success

    The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District uses a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) - a comprehensive framework that aligns academic, behavioral, and social emotional learning - to meet the needs of all students in our district. Under the umbrella of the LVJUSD framework, the three components that address students’ needs are Academics, Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS), and Social Emotional Learning (SEL).

    All students in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District are participating in the Choose Love social emotional learning curriculum during the 2018-19 school year. Students learn the Choose Love Formula: Courage + Gratitude + Forgiveness + Compassion in Action = Choosing Love Formula.
